Flying the Alexander Schleicher ASK21 Glider / Sailplane in X-Plane. We launch from Oban airport (EGEO) on the west coast of Scotland. At the end of the video we also look at loading the GPS trace into Google Earth Pro for analysis. Let me know if you would like to see more of this sort of video.

Errors, Omissions, Clarifications:

I mentioned the "weak link" once but didn't expand on it. It's a metal link installed in the tow cable between the cable and the aircraft. It is there to protect the aircraft from being overstressed should there be a sudden gust, a winch problem or a cable snag. The weak link is colour coded as there are different ratings. The weak link is rated to fail before any damage can occur to the aircraft structure.
