June 25, 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the premiere performance of Edwin Franko Goldman’s most celebrated march, On the Mall. The performance by the renowned Goldman Band took place in New York City’s Central Park on June 25, 1923. The work remains popular to this day due to the tradition of audience participation through singing and whistling.
