As someone who had not played the prequel or knew the whole story with Marty, I didn't know the extent of Marty's horrific abuse to Lisa. I assumed he was a complete waste of life, and an abusive father to Brad, but I had no idea how he abused Brad's sister Lisa. Only after I attempted to forgive and spare him was it explained to me in the chat how unforgivable Brad's father really was. He had to go.
