Exploring Ouray, Colorado! Our absolute FAVORITE mountain town! ⛰️

Join us on an epic family adventure in the incredible mountain town of Ouray, CO, the Little Switzerland of America, right after an exciting weekend at the GoPro Mountain Games! We kick up some dust offroading through Corkscrew Gulch and Yankee Boy Basin, explore the stunning views of Telluride by air, unwind in the refreshing Ouray Hot Springs Pool, and finish it off with a beautiful hike surrounded by the most breathtaking views. Exploring Ouray with our two adventurous daughters was a highlight of our trip, and we can't wait to share these special moments with you! 📍: Ouray, Colorado (5.5 hours from Denver, 31 hours from Virginia - ask me how I know 😂)

🚙: We rented our Jeep from Colorado West Jeeps and it was great!

✔️: Make sure you get updates from a couple local sources about the route conditions! Most trails are not open until the end of June depending on how much snow they had gotten in the winter. AND in this latest trip we learned the trails are not being as well kept up as in the past so always ask for updates day of!

♨️: Ouray Hot Springs Pools were great with families! They do not provide towels so bring your own or plan to purchase them. BONUS - There is a park right next to the pool to get kids energy out and a fish pond that uses water from the springs.

🛣️: Million Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton with nerve-wracking drop offs and million dollar views. We went into Silverton, a town straight out of an old western movie saloons and all, and saw the 🚂 steam train come in from Durango!

🚠: We chose to go out to Telluride for a day on their gondola! During the summer the gondola is FREE and since the girls loved the one in Vail we figured it was a good way to explore! This was so much fun with young kids! Highly recommended! 🍕: We had pizza at Brown Dog Pizza a Detroit-style pizza place that was delicious!

🥾: We hiked the Baby Bathtubs trail on the edge of town. There are incredible views right from the parking lot and a place to play in the water at the beginning of the trail. Box Canyon trail is another great trail we had wanted to do but did not have time.

🍔: Best food in town is at Maggie's! We have been going to Maggie's every trip, multiple times each trip, as the burgers are fantastic! Grab a beer at Mr. GrumpyPants Brewing next door (are you a King or a Queen?) and enjoy the porch views ⛰️
