Interesting subject talked about by the Author during the event:

* Poland had 9-11 every day for five and a half years because we had over 7 million Polish citizens killed in WW2...

* Kindness of strangers...

* Hitler ordered his generals to kill without mercy all men, women and children of the Polish race and language...

* Poland was removed from the map of Europe for 123 years...

* In 1939 Poland was invaded from two sides:
* on September 1st 1939 by Nazi Germany from the west
* on September 17th 1939 by Soviet Union from the east

* Definition of Genocide:
Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people in whole or in part.

In 1948, the United Nations Genocide Convention defined genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group.

* This book consists of the eye-witness-accounts of 20 survivors of WW2...

* The most important statement in the book is that these people that I interviewed
show us the danger of identifying soly with a group of ideology rather than
the fact of our shared humanity...

* Ultimate defeat is a bitterness of heart.
Abuser only wins if he/she transfers the hatred from his/her heart to your heart...

Other:
* To be late to an event is a simple lack of respect to people who were on time.
* There was live music and loud AC vents operating, as well as other noises to be expected in a public place (on location) - thus the quality of the sound is not perfect.
Mea culpa.

Special thanks
* Special thanks to Donna Chmara as I just realized something - that:
"People like you (Donna the Author) have to tell their life-stories -
so people like me could record them for the future generations to learn from..."
* Special thanx to Irene Mitta for introducing and producing this event.
* Special thanx to my little Sister Magda for representing RM with a high esteem and for asking an intelligent question.
