Medical Robotics: From Surgery to Rehabilitation with Allison Okamura

Описание к видео Medical Robotics: From Surgery to Rehabilitation with Allison Okamura

Many medical interventions today are qualitatively and quantitatively limited by human physical and cognitive capabilities. Professor Allison Okamura will discuss robotic systems that will extend humans’ ability to improve patient care by minimizing invasiveness and improving accuracy.

Allison Okamura, MS '96, PhD '00, is an associate professor in mechanical engineering. Her academic interests include haptics (tactile feedback technology), virtual environments and simulators, medical robotics, neuromechanics, prosthetics, and engineering education. She has served as associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Haptics, editor of the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation Conference Editorial Board, and co-chair of the IEEE Haptics Symposium.

Classes Without Quizzes are presented by the Stanford Alumni Association. Filmed on location at Stanford Reunion Homecoming 2014.
