I love using a variety of techniques to catch smallies at the Park. The moping technique that Jeff Gustafson just used to win the Classic (and variations also called the damiki rig, tightlining, freestyle jigging etc) are some of my “go to" presentations. You'll see some footage from a tournament day (day 2/2 of a BASS Nation Qualifier, check out my last video for day 1/2) and afterwards I do a breakdown on the way subtle differences in jig head shape and trailers can effect the action of your presentation. The moping technique is known for its subtle dead sticking over the fish approach, but when low action approaches aren’t triggering fish, having the ability to spice up the presentation can pay off big time.
