The Beatles: Please Please Me (Drum Cover)

Описание к видео The Beatles: Please Please Me (Drum Cover)

For the first time on this channel is a cover from The Beatles' classic debut album "Please Please Me" from 1963! As the first song to be in a video on this channel, what better place to start than the title track.

Released as The Beatles' second single, it reached #1 in the UK, but when it was first released in the US, as Paul McCartney said in the Washington Coliseum concert in 1964 "this song was released in America, it didn't do anything. It was released later again and now it's doing something you know." That is true. When it was released again back with "From Me To You", it reached the #3 spot on the charts. It is a great song and is a great example of that classic Merseybeat sound.

This is a pretty straightforward song. Ringo provides a simple drum beat, but it is the perfect beat for this song. I've noticed that he really holds back on the crash cymbal where it does not appear until the song's outro. In live performances of this song, he really accents those hits with a crash cymbal, but he holds back on it in the studio cut.

Thank you to all of those who support this channel. It is greatly appreciated! If you are new here and like what you see/hear, please consider subscribing so you do not miss out on future covers! A very important album in The Beatles discography has an anniversary early next month and I have something special planned for it. I'm certain you won't want to miss what's in store!
