Volkswagen-owned Spanish performance brand Cupra has only been around for three years in Australia, so every model in the line-up seems brand new to us.

But the reality is the Cupra Ateca medium SUV's history can be traced all the way back to 2016, which means it’s close to retirement... and the word is it won’t be directly replaced.

So to inject some added interest Cupra’s launched a cheaper, less powerful model in Australia called the Ateca V. Sure, it’s a run-out special for an ageing model, but it’s also well-priced, handsomely-equipped and delivers on the Cupra promise to be an enjoyable drive.
