How to Make Gum Arabic at Home

A year ago when I was teaching lithography we ran out of gum arabic and our usual seller didn't respond for a month so I decided to try and make some from powder and it ended up being easier than I thought. A 1/4lb bag of gum arabic powder makes me approximately 16oz of gum arabic liquid.
