The shift pattern on the 6 speed is designed for the everyday driver. The patterns are long and not very conducive to performance driving. The obvious answer is an aftermarket kit to reduce the amount of gear travel. However, most of these kits are of inferior quality and are difficult to install. Bolt on a factory original part and shorten your shift instantly.

This European VW/Audi shift lever was designed for a European Audi A3, but when bolted onto your US spec 6 speed, it noticeably reduces shift throw. Because it is a factory direct part, it is of original equipment quality. A simple, bolt on replacement allows you to be running through the gears more quickly and easily.
