Welcome to Part 47 of our Laravel 12 Multi-Vendor E-commerce Website Tutorial Series!

In this part, we continue working on the Brands Module and implement the complete Add/Edit Brand functionality.

✅ What You Will Learn in This Part:

1️⃣ Update brands.blade.php (Brands Listing Page)

• Add “Add Brand” button to the top-right section

• Add “Edit” icon in the Action column for each brand

2️⃣ Resource Route Setup

We use Laravel’s default resourceful routes in routes/web.php file (inside admin middleware group)

3️⃣ Update BrandController Methods

✅ Show Add Brand Form

✅ Handle Add Brand Submission

✅ Show Edit Brand Form

✅ Handle Edit Brand Submission

These methods follow Laravel's RESTful controller conventions, ensuring clean and maintainable code.

4️⃣ Create add_edit_brand.blade.php (Form View)
We create a single Blade file for both Add and Edit operations.

It includes:
• Form fields for: Brand Name, Image, Logo, Discount, URL, Description, Meta Title, Meta Description and Meta Keywords
• Display of existing image and logo when editing
• Conditional route handling for store and update
• Also update brands migration with menu_status column that we require to make brand active or inactive in header menu

Full form design with admin styling and conditional image/size chart previews is implemented.

5️⃣ Create addEditBrand() in BrandService
Handles both Insert and Update logic in a single method:
• File uploads using Intervention Image
• Image resizing & saving
• URL slug formatting
• Input sanitization and default values
• Saving data to brands table

6️⃣ Required Header Imports
At the top of your BrandService.php, add classes:

use Intervention\Image\Laravel\Facades\Image;
use Intervention\Image\ImageManager;
use Intervention\Image\Drivers\Gd\Driver;

7️⃣ Show Success Message in index.blade.php
Display a flash message after successful brand add/update:

Also, update the admin sidebar to include the Brands section.

✅ At the end of this part, you’ll be able to Add and Edit Brands dynamically from the Admin Panel.

🔜 In the next part, we’ll add Validation to the Add/Edit Brand form to ensure clean data entry.
