Today we’re going to do a quick overview of Sinterit’s PA11 ESD material, specifically designed for electronics applications, especially in the automotive industry.
PA11 ESD as the name implies is an electrostatic discharge safe version of PA11, better known as Nylon. This is the perfect material for anything near electrical components, housings for electronics, boards, etc.

Better thermal properties than PA12
Great Dimension stability
Great mechanical properties, which PA11 is known for
Bio-sourced from castor oil

WHAT KIND OF MACHINE DO YOU NEED TO PRINT THIS FILAMENT?
Like other PA11’s, PA11 ESD needs to be printed with inert gas which the Lisa Pro, Lisa X and NILS480 systems are capable of. At the elevated temperatures of the print chamber, PA11’s can oxidize, which affects their mechanical properties and even surface finish – the Nitrogren prevents oxidation of the material, ensuring better print properties.

Material refresh rate of 60% - a bit lower than others, you’ll have to add more new powder than old powder, but it can still be reused consistently.
Shore Hardness: D76
Melting Point: 204 C
Heat deflection temperature: 103 C
Specific volume resistance 1.0✕10^5 Ω
Specific surface resistance: 5.3✕10^4 Ω
LET’S GET INTO SOME BASIC STRENGTH SPECS:
Tensile Strength: 46 / 50 MPa (tested on virgin powder)
Tensile Modulus: 1850 MPa
Flexural Strength 56 MPa
Flexural Modulus: 1240 MPa
Impact Strength Charpy Method unnotched: 59 kJ/m^2
Elongation at Break: 27%
