An overview of setting the gain level for a vocal mic on the Presonus Series III console.

Setting proper gain will greatly help with overall system gain, mix quality, and will aid in controlling/managing feedback. Channel overhead must be available for all console inputs. Setting the gain for a vocal input is different than for a drum kit. Also, setting gain for everything to 0 on the meter does not work well.

Take the time (especially during sound check) to set gain correctly. Vocal gain is very important for a good FOH mix.
