The Interior Castle is a multi-media production by Musica Aperta celebrating the 500th anniversay of the birth of St. Teresa of Avila. Involving poetry, art, history, drama, and music, a 21st century reporter is spiritually transformed as she explores the life and writings of this humble mystic. This production is the vision of Stage Director, Scott Morgan and Musical and Artistic Director, Ignacio Alcover, and includes music by a number of composers. Presented here is an excerpt from the production, a piece titled "Silent Prayer," by Pianist-Composer Haskell Small. The composition is a musical rendering of one of the later stages of prayer described by St. Teresa in The Interior Castle.
