Nikko Japan is well known for many UNESCO world heritage sites and it IS awesome but OKUNIKKO 奥日光 is truly a gem well worth visiting, off the beaten path and less crowded surrounded by gorgeous nature and awesome hotels and ryokans.

We stayed at Kyukamura Nikko Yumoto 休暇村日光湯元 and highly recommend!
Including beautiful spots such as Ryuokyo Gorge 龍王峡, Senjogahara 戦場ヶ原 and Lake Yunoko湯ノ湖.
