'I Never Knew Tv's Short Film Series Presents:
Rastafari At 'The New Pinnacle' Fighting For Self-Sustainability In The Hills Of Their Country

Around 1940, Leonard Howell, one of the founder's of Rastafari,
established the first Rastafari community of about 4,500 members
at Pinnacle in the hills of St. Catherine, Jamaica. Pinnacle emerged as a self-reliant community. Several farmers lived and worked there, producing a variety of fruits, vegetables, and staples. Many skilled craftsmen and women also lived there and shared their faith under the motto ‘One God, One Aim, One Destiny’. At its zenith, Pinnacle was a thriving, self-sufficient community. Its destruction was brought about by the colonial authorities in 1954.

This short film was shot in the beautiful mountains of St. Andrew, Jamaica, W.I. at School Of Vision. School of Vision is a thriving Rastafari community based on a strict biblical interpretation of the Rastafari movement. Residents at 'School Of Vision' work diligently towards creating 'The New Pinnacle' by reaching full self-reliance in the areas of food, shelter, water, energy, and medical care.
