It allows for pirate adventures as you try to scavenge resources for crafting and building. Create structures, shelters and other fortified places. Do this in online multiplayer, or during single player as well. There's even multiplayer non-dedicated options too. It has crossplay too with PC, the PS5/PS4 version isn't available or confirmed.

This will definitely change over time, and the new console can luckily handle the performance much better. This is a definite improvement over the initial release of the game.
