An 81-year-old cruise ship passenger died after being left behind on Lizard Island, a remote location on the Great Barrier Reef 1600 kilometres north of Brisbane. The woman was hiking a bush trail when she became tired and turned back, but the Coral Adventurer departed without realising she wasn't on board, leading to a five-hour delay before a search began. Her body was found 50 metres from the hiking trail on Sunday, raising questions about safety procedures and whether the tragedy could have been prevented.
