"Breakaway" by Tom Bridegroom-Performed by Coleen McMahon

3 years ago, on May 7, 2011, I received a phone call I would never forget. One of my long time and best friends had a horrible accident and died. I went into shock. My heart felt like it was being torn out of my chest and broken into a billion pieces. He was beautiful... My beam of light... His name was, and still is, Tom Bridegroom.

He was a remarkable person with many talents, two of which were singing and songwriting. To honor him on the third anniversary of his passing I decided to record a cover of his song "Breakaway." Although a positive and spirited person, many of the songs he wrote were very prophetic and melancholy. I miss Tom everyday, but am grateful that he left so many wonderful gifts behind.
