The "Inheritance" you are given is a level 9 Enchantment spell called "Power Word Kill" which compels an enemy with 100 hit points or less to die instantly. It can only be used once per campaign/playthrough.

In this playthrough I chose all of the evil/bad/non-resist options (except a few that I refuse to do like cutting off gales hand, karlachs head, and killing steelclaw).

And if it wasn't obvious, I am romancing Astarion (he is ascended here) in this playthrough hence his "dowry" comment. :)
