Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 BMW X5 we're doing a test fit of the RockyMounts MonoRail platform-style 2-bike rack. That part number is RKY10004. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. This is going to be our tilting feature. What's great about this bike rack is that we do have a convenient lever here at the front instead of other bike racks that have them in the middle or towards the vehicle.

Now we're able to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle with our bikes fully loaded in this position. We're going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. We can also open up the bottom here and we're not going to have any interference with our bike rack or our bikes. We have plenty of room to stand in between our vehicle as well as our bike rack. We'll close that up.

Then to put our bike rack back into place, we'll simply lift up until that clicks.How our bike is secured down, here at the back we have a cam buckle strap. We're just going to push on the blue tab and pull our strap through. We can just feed it through to secure that down. At the front we have a wheel hook. This sits either in front of our brakes or in front of our frame depending on how our bike is made.

We'll push on the blue button at the bottom to release it and pull straight down to tighten that down. This also adjusts so we can place it anywhere for different bikes.We'll set our bike off to the side. You'll notice our cradles are a lot deeper and wider than some other cradles on different bike racks. This is because we can accommodate fat tire bikes. We'll also have included extra straps to make our straps long as well.

This will fit road bike, mountain bike, and fat tire bike. We'll actually move our hook to the opposite side and then our cradle snaps into place on top of itself. That's going to be a great position. We won't have to worry about our cradle getting in the way or making contact with anything.Now we'll take a few measurements here. First is going to be overall what we're adding to our vehicle. It's going to be about 31-1/2". Our ground clearance here at the back is going to be about 18". Our closest point looks to be here at the center of the bike rack at about 7-3/4" away. Now we also have the option to actually tilt our bike rack up against our vehicle, once again pulling out on that same convenient lever and folding that up against our vehicle for close quarters situations like parking. Overall to our vehicle now we're adding about 13-3/4". Ground clearance is going to be about 12". For our closest point we're looking about 3-1/4" away there.Now as for our hitch, this is designed to work with 2" hitches only. Down here we have an anti-rattle bolt and lock. We also have a bike lock that comes with our rack that we'll secure here in the back. With that lock on the end, it's also going to help to prevent theft and tampering of your bike rack as well as our hitch lock there. With that anti-rattle bolt completely tightened down, it is going to keep a lot of shake and play out of the bike rack as you head down the road so you should have an overall smooth ride. That's going to be our completed look at the RockyMounts MonoRail platform-style 2-bike rack, part number RKY10004, on our 2016 BMW X5. Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next we're at the alternating speed bumps, which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps, where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.
