This statement could not be more true than among the Baka in Cameroon. The Baka are timid towards outsiders. It is difficult to connect with them. But they come alive when telling stories! The quiet gives way to expressions of joy and protest. Songs are sung in layer after layer of great intensity until a signal is given for silence. Then the storyteller resumes his craft.

Making the connection between God’s truth and the Baka has been our long-time desire. Desma and I are privileged to have built on the foundation of good relationships by other World Team missionaries among the Baka. On this sure footing, we have begun to rediscover story. This extended version of a video created by Barry and Desma Abbott will help you better understand the technique of Bible storying.
