A Kwik review of a foam windscreen for the Blue Yeti microphone. I purchased this foam windscreen hoping it would perform the same function as a pop filter by mitigating some of the harsh plosives created when speaking close to the mic. It was delivered quickly via Amazon Prime and in good, brand new condition.

The foam isn’t the thickest I’ve seen on windscreens but it certainly isn’t flimsy or cheap. In my opinion, it is an improvement over recording without a foam windscreen and, as shown in the audio screenshots in the video, the windscreen makes a verifiable improvement in audio quality.

It also serves a secondary purpose of protecting the microphone from spit / saliva, which will lengthen the life of your microphone as well as maintaining its performance.

Overall, I think it’s a good value for under $10. And it’s better than having no protection for your microphone at all. If you own a Blue Yeti or any other similarly sized condenser microphone, this is a no-brainer. Brought to you by Kwik Reviews.
