Out On LinkedIn: Cat Cora

Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef, sat down with LinkedIn News to discuss her career and why she’s is an out #LGBTQ+ professional.

After growing up around family-owned restaurants in Jackson, Mississippi, Cora pursued a culinary degree at the urging of Julia Child. She went on to work in some of the best kitchens in France before building an empire that would make her a household name through her charity work, restaurants, books and television appearance. “My biggest advice to anyone is when one door shuts, go through another one. Just take a detour, take a U-turn. Whatever it is. But follow your dreams and don't give up because it will happen for you.”
