Public Health England's Act FAST campaign aims to raise awareness of the symptoms of stroke and to encourage people who recognise any one of these symptoms, in themselves or others, to call 999.

This short animation, created with the Stroke Association shows the possible consequences of two scenarios for a stroke survivor – based on a real story.

After a stroke, every minute counts. Act FAST:

•Face – has their face fallen on one side? Can they smile?
•Arms – can they raise both arms and keep them there?
•Speech – is their speech slurred?
•Time to call 999 if you see any one of these signs
