NAMI Greenville's Connection Recovery Support Group (Greenville, South Carolina) is a free, peer-led support group for adults with mental/emotional disorders. Connection groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators with lived experience of mental illness. Facilitators, as well as other group members, have also learned skills for recovering; they regularly use these skills to maintain wellness.

Connection is ideal for anyone with a mental/emotional disorder who wants to begin the process of recovering and staying well. By sharing experiences in a safe and confidential setting, participants gain hope as they develop relationships.

The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group's principles of support are:
We see the individual first, not the illness.
We recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that may have environmental triggers.
We understand that mental illnesses are traumatic events.
We aim for better coping skills.
We find strength in sharing experiences.
We reject stigma and do not tolerate discrimination.
We will not judge anyone’s pain as less than our own.
We forgive ourselves and reject guilt.
We embrace humor as healthy.
We accept that we cannot solve every problem.
We work for a better future in a realistic way.
We will never give up hope.
