How To Turn Off Or On App Location Permissions On Your Android Device

In this video, I will be showing you how to turn off the location setting on Android. There are disadvantages and advantages to turning off all app location permissions. With the location setting turned on, you can use location based services to get accurate commute predictions, see what restaurants are nearby based on your current android devices location and get local search results for example. Switching off location is for the more privacy in mind Android user, as you are sacrificing convenience for privacy. With location turned off, apps and services can't access your Android device’s location. Your Android device can still get local results, however they won't be as effective.

Steps To Turn Location On Or Off On Android:

1. Open your devices Settings app.
2. Tap on Location
3. Tap on the toggle for "Use location" top turn off or on location.

Alternatively:
1. Swipe down from the top of your screen.
2. Tap on the "Location" tile to toggle off or on location. If you don't find Location, tap on the edit button which should be a pencil icon, find the location tile, hold and drag to add the tile into your Quick Settings.

Congratulations, you have successfully turned off all app location permissions on your Android device.
