Don't Let Me Down (The Beatles)_Beatles 4 Ever - 9 February 2021

It was during the making of “You Raise Me Up” in last autumn that I asked my friend Luc what would be is choice for a Beatles' song to cover in a future project. Quite a lot of suggestions came out, but “Don’t Let Me Down” was his final choice. So here we are… Luc proposed his best friend Michel to record ourselves as a trio. So, it was for me to decide who would sing what and I came up with this arrangement. Luc and Michel would share the verses, I would sing the harmonies and lead in the bridge. I think it works pretty well that way.

For this one, I recruited my wonderful and loyal buddies Peter Goindi, Fred White and Tedd VanWagner to play along with me. As usual, it was a pure delight to record with these guys.

As you will notice, there’s a slight difference in the sound of Michel’s voice compared to Luc’s and mine… since we all use different gear to record ourselves at home, this is bound to happen. I did my best in trying to bring Michel’s vocal sound closer to Luc’s however. Nevertheless, I think that both Luc and Michel delivered their vocal parts big time. I thank you kindly gentlemen for the fine work. A huge THANK YOU to my bandmates as well.

Luc produced the video with his usual amazing artistic vision. I really like the blend of The Beatles images from that historic rooftop concert in January 1969 along with our own videos performing the song. Beautiful work all around.
