A conversation with James Roberts, Managing Director of HumanGayMale + Q&A | Men Challenging Sexism Conference 2025 #MACS2025

James Roberts is the managing director of HumanGayMale, an initiative for gay men who reject gender identity ideology. He joined us at the Men Challenging Sexism Conference for a conversation about what led him to set up HumanGayMale and what the current priorities for gay men are.
Some of the priorities that was identified at the first HumanGayMale conference in 2025 were related to mental health and ‘chemsex’ and we discussed both of these for a while.

We also spoke about an incident that occurred in August 2025 when a Brighton pub cancelled a booking HumanGayMale had made because of their ‘gender critical views’. HumanGayMale has decided to take legal action against the pub and James provides us with an update about the case.
