Appointed to the Supreme Court of India in May 2016, Justice Chandrachud has had an illustrious legal career. He served as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court from 2013 to 2016 and was a judge of the Bombay High Court from 2000 to 2013. Throughout his career, he has been part of benches that delivered landmark rulings, including the verdict on the electoral bond scheme, the 2019 Supreme Court ruling on the Ayodhya dispute, the privacy verdict, the decriminalization of homosexuality, the Sabarimala case, the same-sex marriage case, and the decision on the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
