Whenever you have to update a theme, WordPress, or a plugin, you will have a message to update in your Dashboard. If you have to update Divi Theme, select the theme and click update.

If you receive a message that “An error occurred while updating Divi: Before you can receive product updates, you must first authenticate your Elegant Themes subscription.”

That means that you have to go to your Elegan Theme Account, select Account Details, and scroll down to API Keys. API key links your subscription to your WordPress Divi Theme and verifies your subscription whether it is annual or lifetime.

Copy the API key and user name and paste it in WordPress — Divi — Theme Options — Updates. Make sure you Save Changes.

Now try to update your Divi Theme again in your dashboard. It should update and from now on you will be able to quickly update your Divi Theme.
