Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country located on the south coast of West Africa. Ivory Coast's political capital is Yamoussoukro in the center of the country, while its economic capital and largest city is the port city of Abidjan. It borders Guinea to the northwest, Liberia to the west, Mali to the northwest, Burkina Faso to the northeast, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) to the south. The official language of the republic is French, with local indigenous languages also being widely used that include Baoulé, Dioula, Dan, Anyin, and Cebaara Senufo. In total, there are around 78 different languages spoken in Ivory Coast. The country has large populations of adherents of Christianity, Islam and various indigenous religions.

আজকে আমরা জানব পশ্চিম আফ্রিকার মুসলিম দেশ "আইভরীকোস্ট" সম্পর্কে। অবাক করার মত বিষয়ে হচ্ছে দেশটির রয়েছে দুটি রাজধানী। নেসলে, ক্যাডবেরির মত বড় কোম্পানি গলোও নির্ভরশীল আইভরি কোস্টের উপর। আসুন জেনে নেই আইভরীকোস্ট সম্পর্কে জানা অজানা নানান বিষয়।
দেশটির সরকারি নাম "কোত দিভোয়ার প্রাজাতন্ত্র" যার অর্থ "হস্তিদন্তের উপকূল"। দেশটির ইংরেজি নাম ""রিপাবলিক অফ কোত ডিভোয়ার"। যদিও দেশটিকে সবাই আইভরি কোস্ট নামেই চিনে থাকে। দেশটি ৭ই আগস্ট ১৯৬০ সালে ফ্রান্সের দেওয়া নানা শর্তের ভিত্তিতে স্বাধীনতা লাভ।
কোত দিভোয়ার বা আইভরি কোস্টের আয়তন ৩ লক্ষ ২২ হাজার ৪৬২ বর্গ কিলোমিটার। দেশটির পূর্ব দিকে ঘানা, পশ্চিমে লাইবেরিয়া ও গিনি, উত্তরে রয়েছে বোরকিনা ফাসো ও মালি এবং দক্ষিণে গিনি উপসাগর। দেশটি ১২টি প্রদেশে বিভক্ত এবং ২টি স্বায়ত্ত সাশিত শহর। শহর দুটির একটি হচ্ছে আবিদজান যা দেশটির অর্থনৈতিক রাজধানী, অপর শহরটি হচ্ছে ইয়ামাসুকুরো যা দেশটির রাজনৈতিক রাজধানী। সকল প্রকার সরকারি স্থাপনাও এই শহরেই অবস্থিত।
বর্তমানে আইভরি কোস্টের জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ২ কোটি ৬০ লাখের মত। দেশটির মোট জনসংখ্যা মূলত ৪টি ভাষা গ্রুপে বিভক্ত। ভাষা গুলো হচ্ছে কুয়া, ক্রু, গ্রু এবং মানডে। যদিও ফরাসী ভাষা হচ্ছে দেশটির সরকারী ভাষা।
