रामगढ़ में चुनाव 20 नवंबर को है, यानी दूसरे चरण में है। यह एक जेनेरल सीट लेकिन कुड़मी बहुल सीट है। कुड़मियों की संख्या यहां 26 प्रतिशत से अधिक है। इसके बाद आदिवासी यहां 19 प्रतिशत हैं, मुस्लिम 17 प्रतिशत के करीब हैं और लगभग 9 प्रतिशत दलित वोटर हैं। कुल मिलाकर कुड़मी, आदिवासी और मुस्लिम निर्णायक भूमिका में होते हैं। यही तय करते हैं कि कौन से यहां से विधायक बनेगा।
Elections in Ramgarh are on November 20, i.e. in the second phase. This is a general seat but is a Kurmi dominated seat. The number of Kurmis here is more than 26 percent. After this, tribals are 19 percent here, Muslims are around 17 percent and there are about 9 percent Dalit voters. Overall, Kurmis, tribals and Muslims play a decisive role. All three current candidates belong to the Mahto community. But Kurmi voters have no attachment with the Congress, they are not considered Congress voters. While AJSU is a party of Kurmis, the Kurmis of Ramgarh have been the traditional voters of AJSU. Jairam's party is contesting from here for the first time, so it cannot be said how much percentage of the Kurmi population's votes they will take, but they will definitely have an impact. Here, Congress candidate Mamta Devi may get some votes due to being a Kurmi, but still on the basis of caste, I see Sunita Chaudhary in advantage.
The husbands of both the candidates have been in politics. Sunita Devi is the wife of Chandra Prakash Chaudhary and Mamta Devi is the wife of Bajrang Mahato. This is not a factor, I am just telling you for information. Here, Paneshwar Mahato, the candidate from JLKM, is probably contesting elections for the first time. He has no experience in politics before this.
If we look at the history of Ramgarh seat, it seems to be the stronghold of AJSU. CPI won from here in the year 2000, then by-elections were held in 2001, in which Babulal Marandi won from here on BJP ticket. But after that CP Chaudhary kept winning on AJSU ticket for three consecutive times in 2005, 2009 and 2014. In 2019, AJSU fielded him for the post of MP, after which in 2019 itself, CP Chaudhary's wife Sunita Chaudhary contested from here on AJSU ticket and lost to Mamta Devi of Congress. In the 2023 by-election, Sunita Devi defeated Bajrang Mahato and again gave AJSU victory from here. That is, till now AJSU has won from here four times, once CPI, once Congress and once BJP. This is the reason why BJP has given this seat to AJSU in the NDA folder.
AJSU's victory margin has always been big. In 2005, AJSU got 51 thousand votes, CPI got 28 thousand and JMM got only 15 thousand votes. This year Congress did not contest from here. In 2009, CP Choudhary defeated Congress's Shahzad Anwar by 25 thousand votes. In 2014, this gap became even bigger. CP Choudhary's victory margin was 53 thousand. All these figures are going in favor of AJSU this time.
Being in the government, anti-incumbency is also with Mamta Devi. Apart from this, another reason is that the kind of case was filed against Mamta Devi and she had to resign from the post of MLA, after which by-elections were held. Her image has been damaged by it. Although the court has allowed her to contest the elections, but this thing remains in the minds of the people. In the 2019 election in which Congress won, BJP and AJSU fought separately.
