Why does my lender need more documents? - Mortgage Mondays

This week’s question: I already sent the lender my initial documents, why are they asking me for more?🤔

Answer: Your initial documents are just that, INITIAL documents. Sometimes after the underwriter has reviewed these up-front docs, they might see something that needs clarification 🔍

For example: Let’s say you have a section of your paystubs for an “allotment” that is not specified for something such as a 401k, we may need additional documentation to clarify what the allotment is for ✅

Another example: Let’s say you send us a document that has multiple pages, but only sent pages 1-5 of 6. Even if page 6 is almost entirely blank, we still need to receive page 6! 📖
