Jennifer Stevens Music Bio:

Jennifer M. Stevens, an Oneida and Oglala Lakota Soprano is a Classical Singer, Composer, and Visual Artist. She is from De Pere, Wisconsin; currently living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She studied Classical Voice/Opera Nationally and Internationally Throughout her adult life, started classical piano at age 7, and composed classical contemporary music In Middle School.

Jennifer Stevens’s song “The Beginning of Time,” was selected by composer, Brent Michael Davids and the Shenandoah Music Conservatory to be performed at the International 66th Contemporary Music Festival, “La Biennale di Venezia,” in Venice, Italy debuting Jennifer Stevens’s original Chorale piece in the Lakota Language.

Stevens’s indigenous cultures, classical and operatic training in Voice and Piano has led her on a unique journey; weaving it all into her melodies, lyrics, and creative expressions. Stevens recently debuted at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, IL her singing and original Operatic Native American music.

Classical music has been sung in many languages of the world, and Jennifer Stevens has been inspired to compose music in her own. Jennifer Stevens believes In “Community Building Through the Arts.”
