President Lee visited the Shanghai Provisional Government Building as his final schedule.

He stated that the history of the two countries fighting together to restore national sovereignty will become a significant root of solidarity.

President Lee Jae Myung visited the Shanghai Provisional Government Building, paid tribute to the statue of Kim Koo, and laid flowers.

In the guestbook, he wrote, "This is where the Republic of Korea began, and we will protect it."

At the subsequent 100th anniversary ceremony of the Shanghai Provisional Government, President Lee noted, "The light of independence ignited in the courtyard has become a beacon that illuminates today's Republic of Korea," highlighting its historical significance.

He emphasized that the democratic republic proclaimed by the provisional government led to a revolution of light, and the aspirations of Kim Koo, who emphasized the power of culture, are becoming a reality.

While mentioning the independence movement, he highlighted the common experience of restoring national sovereignty shared by both Korea and China.

He stated that the history of fighting together has become a significant root of ties and solidarity between Korea and China.

President Lee expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for restoring the Shanghai office, which was once at risk of demolition, and stated that he would work harder on the excavation of remains and the preservation of historical sites.

He revealed that he requested continuous interest and cooperation from President Xi Jinping regarding the excavation of the remains of Ahn Jung-geun, which have not yet been found, and the preservation of historical sites in China.
