Chidambaram is best known for pichavaram mangrove forests, water sports and Chidambaram Nataraja Temple and I was lucky to experience almost all of these.

I had one free day in Puducherry and had no room to stay so I thought about this unplanned trip to Chidambaram.

I travelled from Pondy to Chidambaram which is very famous for water sports and mangrove forests near Pondicherry. It took me 2 hours to reach Chidambaram from Pondicherry. I felt like I was in Maldives because of the amazing nature views and the scenic beauty of the place.

I did stand up paddle and kayaking for the first time here, because of the high water levels we did not go in the mangrove forests. It was truly an amazing experience and a great decision to visit this place. I will definitely recommend you visiting this place if you are in pondy | really a good getaway from pondicherry.
