Canyoning is the sport of exploring a canyon by engaging in such activities as rappelling, and is a very popular adventure tour in Costa Rica. And with so many waterfalls throughout the country it’s easy to understand why. Guanacaste is known for its white sand beaches, but is also vastly diverse and includes features such as jungles, mountains, volcanoes, and many waterfalls.


After a safety demonstration you will be fitted for your rappelling equipment, you will be using climbing ropes, harnesses, a helmet, and other gear. Once you are comfortable we can begin the action. After the first rappel, follow the rock wall-assisted climb to the waterfall to rappel back down again. You can then do another rappel in a second location and a Tarzan swing in the waterfall lake below. Did you know the largest waterfall in Costa Rica is an astounding 270 feet tall? But the most popular one in the country is Rio Celeste here in Guanacaste!
