n this reflection on Malachi 3:1–4, Hebrews 2:14–18, and Luke 2:22–40, we contemplate the mystery of Christ’s Presentation in the Temple and what it reveals about God’s saving plan.

Malachi announces the coming of the Lord who will enter His Temple to purify and refine His people like gold and silver. This prophecy is fulfilled when Mary and Joseph bring the Child Jesus to the Temple—not in power, but in humility.

The Letter to the Hebrews explains the deeper meaning of this moment: the Son of God shares fully in our humanity in order to destroy the power of death and become a merciful and faithful high priest (Hebrews 2:14–18).

In the Gospel, Simeon and Anna recognize what the world does not: this Child is the light for revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of Israel, yet also a sign of contradiction (Luke 2:22–40).
