There are only a few watch brands that call Australia home, but one of them is Bausele in Sydney whose timepieces take some inspiration from the land they were born in. The Bausele OceanMoon VI is the latest release in the collection of dive watches that have been in the brand's catalogue for more than a decade now, becoming progressively refined over that period. With a number of historical design cues, alongside a contemporary Swiss movement and strong water resistance, it's a compelling package on the wrist.

The surgical grade steel case measures 42mm in diameter, while the super-compressor inspired double-crowns screw down to guarantee 200m of water resistance. It certainly isn't a slim watch, but it meets the wrist nicely with curved lugs and a comfortable caseback that features an image of the moon dipping low over the ocean, as the name suggests.

There are five regular production references within this collection, each with different dial colours, but the white and the green examples that we looked at here are an instructive subset of the rest of the collection. The dials were designed with legibility in mind, thanks to the bold stencil style hour markers, but also to be functional with the internally rotating divers bezel.

Secured with comfortable recycled plastic straps and butterfly folding clasps, the Bausele OceanMoon IV is a collection that could either be a daily wear, or simply one you reserve for the beach. With a wearable case size and all the bells and whistles you'd expect, it is more than worthy of consideration as an accessibly priced diving watch.
