in the early 1960s one of the most popular members of the British Monarchy was Queen Elizabeth Il's cousin Prince William of Gloucester. He was educated at the best universities in the world, distinguished himself in the Diplomatic service and could boast impressive success in sports. But William's main passion has always been flying. Once he even made a dangerous flight from Africa to Japan alone on a small private plane. William overcame sudden stormy weather conditions and landed the aircraft safely at the Tokyo Airport. In 1972 he decided to compete in the Goodyear International Air trophy which was held annually in England. However that flight was the last for the nation's favorite. Prince William's airplane hit tree after which it flipped in the air and began to plummet downwards. When it hit the ground it exploded ending the life of the popular Prince at the age of 30.
