Here is the question
You are tasked with improving a Ratchet Mechanism used in a belt-driven system. The current design has several issues that need to be addressed:
1. The ratchet’s bracket lacks locators, making it challenging to secure the ratchet to the base frame.
2. The locking pin lacks a guide and a spring, causing it to slip and lose functionality.
3. The locking pin’s position is not ideal for securing the ratchet gear during the locking phase of its operation.
Your task is to modify the system to address these issues. Specifically, ensure that the belt can be clamped, the mechanism is not exposed, the bracket has locators, the locking pin remains secure, and it stays on track at all times.
You are expected to utilize the following key tools essential in developing a solution for the cited problems.
a. Develop a SolidWorks Model of the designed solution satisfying the design parameters and functions obtained in Question 1a to Question 1c
b. Assemble the Solution to give the complete assembly with the necessary modifications.
