Jen Hollas and Johnae Anthony of Companion Animal Alliance joined us this morning to talk about CAA's Access to Care program. The purpose of the Access to Care program is to remove barriers that would prevent people from owning pets. Regardless of socioeconomic status, health status, etc., everyone should have the opportunity to own and love a pet. Right now, Companion Animal Alliance is focusing on the Gardere community. They've conducted surveys and asked residents what they need to keep their pets. There are plans to expand this to other neighborhoods and communities in the Baton Rouge area.
