The Madras High Court Bench here on Thursday chose to conduct in-camera proceedings on a petition filed by film actor Dhanush to quash a maintenance case filed against him by an elderly couple from Melur near here in November last. The couple had claimed to be his biological parents. The debate over the real parentage of Dhanush continues to rage on. On the one hand, a Madurai couple - Kathiresan and Meenakshi - claim that the actor is their son. On the other, Dhanush is denying these claims and is alleging that the couple is trying to blackmail and extort money from him. So the elderly couple filed a case to proceed with DNA test. The case was postponed to March 9th.
Both the lawyers argued infront of Judge in Madurai court. The opposing counsels agreed to the in-camera hearing and presented their arguments before the judge inside the chamber from 6 pm. After the counsels left the judge's chamber around 8 pm, they refused to reveal the details of the arguments to the media.
