May Internal Drum Mic Demo

Here’s some raw audio (no EQ or mixing) of May internal drum mics on my Pearl Reference kit.
All recorded at VelvetTone Studios.

3 different positions were used for the Tom mics.
The toms also had some foam inserted to controlled the internal sound reflections.


The following equipment was used for this sample:
- May Shure SM57 internally mounted in the snare and both rack toms
- May Audix D6 in both floor toms
- Shure beta 52 and Beta 91 internally mounted on a May Monorail system
- Shure SM57 (external) on the snare batter head
- Neumann KM84 overhead mics
