Making a Will in India is a sensitive topic. But it is a very important document which must be made as it serves various useful purposes.

First and most important reason is that it avoids disputes among the surviving successors. The laws with respect to Wills is mostly similar in all States with minor differences here and there. It is majorly governed by The Indian Succession Act, 1925.

Whether is Will is to be probated again depends on the State to which the Will pertains. In Delhi, a Will is not required to be probated.

Mutation is again an important process, after the Will has been made.
