If you like slick folk/pop with a crisp beat and thick polished vocal crooning somewhere between The Lettermen and The Association, then this six-man Florida group ought to make a connection. Gonna be too smooth for some, but they've got enough catchy '60's pop sentiment going for them to get my nod of approval. Some similarities to The Mission (Ken Scott, Archivist, 4th Edition)

Not to be confused with a one-hit-wonder band of the same name The Spokesmen are a real cool treasure from the early days of christian rock. This Florida bible college band released several LPs in the late 60's n' early 70's and "Free" is hands down the best of the bunch. Comparisons to the hazy sunshine era Beach Boys are unavoidable. The record just hits in all the right places and seems genuine. Recommended.
