South Korea completes development of indigenous M-SAM system

'한국형 MD'핵심무기 M-SAM, 5발 시험서 모두 명중
The South Korean military has completed its development of a medium-range surface-to-air missile or M-SAM- a key element of the country's Korea Air Missile Defense.
A military official said a prototype of the M-SAM shot down all five incoming missiles in mid-air... and passed all the other requirements in a recent test.
With development starting in 2006,... the medium-range surface-to-air missile is expected to be fully deployed by 2019.
M-SAM, part of South Korea's indigenous missile defense system,... is expected to better respond to North Korea's ballistic missile threats when used in conjunction with the THAAD missile defense system.
