My Stepfather makes these handy little lamps that burn cooking oil. The oil can be previously used, but I prefer it fresh for a cleaner and odor-free flame. I prefer these to candles and they last a long time at very low cost. Pocketsofthefuture has a great video on these oil lamps and how to use glass mugs with handles as the container. I mention in this video about blowing out the flame, but I should have said "putting out" the flame instead. It's not a good idea to blow on a flame to put it out.
